Valoriza Energía is involved in the development of two types of projects: thermoelectric solar power and photovoltaic solar power. In the first instance, electrical power is produced by using the thermal energy contained in solar radiation, which, in the case of this project, is complemented by a biomass plant for nocturnal hours and periods of low sunlight.

As regards photovoltaic solar power, current plans include the construction of photovoltaic facilities close to the available cogeneration or biomass plants in order to take advantage of the existing electrical power transmission infrastructures and minimise maintenance and personnel costs.

Valoriza Energía has signed a collaboration agreement with the company Solel whereby, over the next four years, 700 million euros are to be invested in the construction of three solar plants with a power capacity of 150 MW. With a view to the future, the agreement includes the possibility of promoting plants beyond Spain, as well as hybrid projects involving thermosolar and biomass energy.
