Presentation:

Fotowatio, one of the leading Spanish promoters of renewable energies, was created in 2004 to try to respond to the ambitious targets set by the Kyoto Protocol. With these targets, Fotowatio’s goal is to focus its activity on achieving sustainable growth that respects the environment, through action and innovation in the Renewable Energies sector, concentrating its main activity on solar energy.

At present: Fotowatio is involved in numerous photovoltaic development and construction projects including the construction of the La Magascona photovoltaic solar plant, with a power of 20 MW in the town of Trujillo (Cáceres). Work is also being done on the extension of la Magascona, through the La Magasquilla solar plant, with a power of 10 MW in the same town of Trujillo (Cáceres). To carry out this project, we have received financing from Banco Santander and Dexia Sabadell, and have contracted Elecnor S.A. for construction.

In the Olmedilla plant 10 MW of power is being built in the town of Olmedilla de Alarcón (Cuenca). Finally, the Alumbra Solar 10 MV solar plant in the town of Arroyo de San Serván (Badajoz). As a result of this, in its short existence Fotowatio has managed to position itself as one of the leaders in the photovoltaic sector.

Moreover it is now being promoted 150 MW thermosolar concentrated in Andalusia and Extremadura which is an ambitious goal.
